POOL
Most asked Pool Q & As
1) Chlorine vs salt water
So we choose chlorine because we were used to that & always works well! We’ve heard a lot of pros & cons to saltwater so we just decided to go with what we knew... We use these chlorine tabs & now have a holder with the in ground that make this super simple and they are dispensed automatically.
2) What kind of pool vacuum?
So we went with the Pentair automatic vacuum! It’s like having a built in pool cleaner it cleans super well & climbs the side walls and tanning ledge! Keeps it crystal clear!
3) What size is your pool?
Okay this was tough because I was very specific but simple with the look we wanted. We chose a simple rectangle 16 x 32 with square 90 degree corners… I didn’t want rounded corners…. We also added a tanning ledge that’s 8 x 16 (built into the 16 x 32 size) we love this space!!! Also love the fact it has full steps all the way across the pool, makes a great spot to sit as well! We only went with 5’ as the deepest part because we wanted this pool to be a place we could relax and stand up in the deep end to play ball or whatever!!! We did add a slide & it was definitely a good decision! This size pool fit our backyard perfectly & we wouldn’t change a thing :)))
4) What kind of pool is it?
We looked into so many different options & we ultimately went with what was best for where we live… I love the concrete look but $$$ was not in our budget. Next we looked at fiberglass but we were told with the clay soil we have it could eventually crack/float and we didn’t want to deal with that… So we chose the vinyl liner! The tanning ledge is concrete with the liner on top. So this was super hard for me to choose a liner that looked coastal without a border and resembled a concrete pool! We went with a coastal more green/turquoise colored tiled looked for the liner & it was the perfect choice!
5) Cost of pool?
So this again depends on what kind of pool, size, additions & of course your area ect!
Most in ground pools here start around $30k and then again depending on all the things and additional cost you add to it!
Soooo, if you’ve been around you know we’ve talked about getting an in-ground pool, &&& we’re finally DOING IT!!!!!! We have always had an above ground pool & enjoyed it so much, however it was time to make a decision as our pool was ready to come down. We needed to make a choice & decide another above ground/new deck etc. or just have the in-ground installed and be done… So it was plainly a smart choice to just do the in-ground pool. We made final decisions on the pool that will hopefully be installed by May, we will bring you along & share it all!
There are so many choices from a liner to fiberglass & reasons for both… We live in the Midwest & have a lot of clay ground which made our decision for the liner v/s fiberglass…we were told the fiberglass could potentially shrink because of the clay. The next decision was the liner color.. So many choices! I, of course, didn’t want the traditional look & my first thought was island water, second thought was dark liner. Two different looks, right?! LOL! So pros & cons to both. I just want clear gorgeous water so either way will be amazing! Stay tuned to see!!!!
The style/shape was another thought! I knew exactly what I wanted & it was just a simple rectangle with clean lines! The only thing we added was a tanning ledge, this will be an 8’ section that we can add lounge chairs to or just sit in and cool off! So our pool is actually very simple 16x32 rectangle! Soooo excited!
Stay tuned as I will share progress:)))
