Camping

Hey friends, it’s been a minute!!!!! If you’ve been following on Instagram stories then you know we recently made a new purchase:) We gave it some thought & decided it’s time for a new adventure! Yep, we bought a camper/travel trailer to do just that… TRAVEL :) We wanted to take new adventures & show the kids new places while experiencing it all together… We’ve already took our very first trip and whew, it was a quick & far one but full of LOTS of amazing memories!!!

•Our travel trailer •
Let’s start with our travel trailer. We decided on the Outback Ultralite 24’, well for starters it has great aesthetics (we all know my love for neutrals, blacks/whites ) … It’s a perfect size for our family, and everything we were looking for!

•Boon docking•
We talked about going out west to Colorado for a while and our oldest daughter and her family recently bought an RV to travel as well. So needless to say when they mentioned going to Colorado for a few days we agreed it would be such a great first trip, great experience, we learned all about “boon docking”, not to run out of gas because Kansas has some long stretches of highway with no exits LOL… So let’s discuss boon docking… I didn’t even know this was a thing until now… Okay, certain stores will allow you to park your camper overnight for 24hrs, of course abiding by the rules… Always check with the store and make sure what they will allow. They do make apps like “RV parky” that will let you know as your traveling what’s available close to you which is so nice! So basically when you boon dock you are allowed that space to park with no hook ups (like water, electric, ect… You would need to use your own generator to have these things. However we loved the convenience to stay when we were tired… We did stay in the parking lot of my fave place ever! Any guesses??? It was so fun to get up go in and grab a Starbucks and shop around :))) Ideally a campsite would be the best for extended stays so you have hook ups, water, ect…

•Colorado•
Now let’s move on to our first adventure,
Colorado!!! Oh my goodness, it’s hard to put into words all the things we experienced in this mountain town called Breckenridge! I’m sure you’ve heard of it & if your a fan of Christmas vacation (the movie, we’re obsessed with it) parts of it was filmed there… It was so neat to see those spots like “peak 8” where Clark filmed the scene sledding down the mountain, or Walmart in a neighboring mountain town called “Frisco” where Eddie & Clark filmed in… We only had 3 days total here but feel we took in so much in those 3 days… We walked the town of Breckenridge, ate at Whiskey Star, Fatty’s pizza, Mi Casa, just to name a few. I highly recommend these amazing restaurants! We rode bikes in the mountains, rode the ski lift to peak 8/9 then hiked down. The mountains are just breathtaking with magical Christmas trees everywhere! We are super thankful to see all of this & experience such a wonderful first trip with all our kids in our travel trailer :)
